George Washington Carver

Principal Norman Williams, Jr.

             Mr. Williams

Greetings to All,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome each of you to the 2023-2024 school year. My name is Mr. Norman Williams, Jr. I have been an educator, teaching and providing students’ leadership skills since 2003. I am presently the principal at George Washington Carver Elementary  School. Successfully educating children is a big responsibility.  However, I feel that every child should be afforded the opportunity to receive the best education possible. I strive to provide students with opportunities to gain an understanding of self and others, to participate in educational explorations, and to pursue career planning opportunities in an environment that is safe, caring, and encouraging.

I understand that in order to provide the best opportunities for the students of Macon County, I must first prepare myself through continuous professional development.  A good education is very important to me. I am a 1999 graduate of Francis Marion High School (Marion, Ala.). I hold certifications in Elementary Education (grades k-6) and Educational Administration (grades P-12). I am a proud hornet of Alabama State University. I have completed many graduate courses at Auburn Montgomery and Troy University. I love my immediate (wife and three boys) and extended families. Also, I love working with my students and I am honored to be a part of the faculty and staff at George Washington Carver School where "Opportunities Never End".

Respectfully,

Mr. Norman J. Williams, Jr.
